Karen Morris began her career in education as a fourth grade teacher in 2000 at Gray Elementary School in Mesquite ISD. After serving two years in this capacity she moved to Kimbrough Middle School where she served as an 8th grade Spanish teacher and testing coordinator. After completing 11 years at Kimbrough, Karen moved into her first administrative assignment at West Mesquite High School as an assistant principal/dean of instruction for a total of four years.
In 2017, Karen was named principal at Vanston Middle School, and is currently serving in this capacity until the 2019-2020 school year. Karen received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Applied Learning and Development from UT Austin in 2000 and graduated with honors. She completed a Masters in Educational Administration at Texas A&M University at Commerce.
