The Clubs & Organizations at West Mesquite are plentiful! We desire all our students to find a place for them to be involved. We have something for everyone!

All students are welcome to join the Art Club meetings to create art and learn new skills.
Art Club members will be involved in volunteer events on campus and at various elementary and middle schools. These include, but are not limited to, Hispanic Heritage Month, Galloway Fall Festival, Halloween Bash, Winter art show, Winter celebration, VASE competition, Black History Month, Art on the West Side Vertical Show, Funtastic Art Field Day, Empty Bowls night, Asian and Pacific Islander Heritage night, Spring celebration. They will also receive an Art Club Shirt and admission to the fall field trip, for paid membership (one time fee of $30).
AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination):
There are no regular meetings outside of AVID elective classes.
Applications will be accepted in the spring for the 24-25 school year.

Make an impact with us in our community and grow as empathetic, effective, and resourceful leaders! Some events we do together: making cards for children in hospitals, district socials with all 6 high schools of MISD, Halloween bash, Valentine’s Day hearts around the school, volunteering, and yearly district competition!

WMHS Girls Club is an organization that strives to encourage and empower our girls to embrace leadership, positive relationships, and service to our community and campus.

Student Council (STUCO)
Student Council is an opportunity for students to find their voice as a leader while helping run different events on campus. Some activities include Homecoming pep rally, Homecoming crowning, dress-up days, organize the Halloween Bash, Blood Drives, Senior pep rally, fall conference, spring conference, state conference. We work alongside other councils within the district as well as other districts.

The Texas Association of Future Educators or TAFE (pronounced "taffy") is a co-curricular statewide non-profit (501 c3) student organization created to allow young men and women an opportunity to explore the teaching profession. The organization was created in 1984 to provide the best and brightest high school and middle school students in Texas with the necessary knowledge to make informed decisions about pursuing careers in education.
