“How do you inspire and encourage your students to live out the Mesquite Promise in their daily lives?”
Principal Jordan Simmons: At West Mesquite, it isn’t just the principal’s role to model kindness and respect; it’s the responsibility of every adult on campus. Whether it’s greeting students by name in the hallways, offering a smile in the cafeteria, or recognizing positive behavior in the classroom, each interaction shows students that they are seen, valued, and cared for. When adults consistently demonstrate respect and encouragement, students begin to mirror that same behavior with their peers.
Our Wrangler Perks program adds another layer by celebrating those everyday moments of kindness and respect. When a student goes out of their way to help a classmate, shows integrity when no one is watching, or demonstrates resilience in the face of a challenge, any adult in the building can acknowledge it with a Wrangler Perk.
